For nearly 50 years, the United Methodist Church and IMA (founded as Interchurch Medical Assistance) have been partners in mission. In fact, the
UMC is one of IMA's 12 Member Agencies, and is represented on our board.
The United Methodist Churches and UMCOR have also been strong supporters of
the IMA Medicine Box (shown in the photo at right), a program that has
provided basic medication and supplies to more than 11 million people in 52
countries in the developing world.
Our partnership continues today, with two of IMA's programs included in The
Advance. Details on both programs, as well as materials to help you promote
them in your congregation, are available below.
